February has arrived, and love is in the air. Valentine’s day is one of my favorite holidays, and I so enjoy making special homemade valentines for my loved ones. Today I am sharing this year’s valentine-making process: miniatures! You can create your own at home using my instructions!
You will require:
– A beloved desktop calendar from a previous year (you could also use vintage postage stamps!)
– Vintage sheet music or written documents
– Baker’s twine or embroidery thread
– Scissors and glue stick
First Step – I have discovered what I think is marvelously clever: using the miniature pictures on the back of a desk top calendar for little projects! I have this adorable vintage kitten calendar from 2018, and the miniature pictures are just perfect for valentines. If you don’t have a desktop calendar, try using vintage postage stamps! Cut your little pictures out very carefully!
Second Step – Outfit each picture with its own custom-sized card from the sheet music, and glue together. I made special effort to pick the prettiest parts of the music to display around the picture!
Third Step – Write your letters of friendship or love, whatever be your preference! (P.S. If your intention is love, who could resist someone who gives such lovely valentines?)
Fourth Step – Use your baker’s twine or embroidery thread to tie a tidy little bow around the valentine as if it were a tiny present! Use the informative photographs if you find you need help.
All done! Your recipients will be raving, and you just might woo your intended!
Will you be my valentine?
